The Wonderful World of the Kindle!

So I’ve finally discovered the world of the Amazon Kindle, yes time and time again I’ve been asked by my parents if I want one at birthdays and Christmases because I’m an avid reader but I’ve always said no. There’s nothing like the feel of a good thick book between my hands but recently I’ve thought differently on the whole subject. Although I like the feel of a book in my hands when reading I don’t always like carrying around the huge thick ones I buy, then I thought of a kindle. I decided to test out my granddad’s for the next month to get the hang of it.

Soon enough I fell in love with it. I mean I start college this September and in 2 years I hope to be on my way to attending university, which means I’m going to have to figure out a way to take my book collection with me! (It’s totally too 100+ books now, eek!) Which is when I thought of the Kindle. You can take 1400+ books with you on the go, you can read it in daylight and dark but also it weights almost nothing! Then I looked at the downside of it, what happens to the books I already have? And also what if I want to buy a book but I also want it on my kindle?

I guess I decided that yes I will want one maybe later this year but also I can carry on buying books, just the special ones I want to keep. I have to admit I am blown away by the kindle, it sure is amazing, the brilliance of it and the actual idea of it is fantastic. I just wish they would find a way to put books you already own on to the Kindle so you can take them with you!

Also like everyone else currently, I’ve started reading Fifty Shades of Grey, well I actually haven’t started the first page yet but I will be later on today. All I can say is my mum’s read it and she enjoyed it, time to see what the big fuss is all about. I mean it can’t be that special right, lots of people write erotica and are never know for it.

Wish me luck – xo

Read, read, read!

Rather then updating on here (like I should be doing) I’ve been out having a social life by watching films with my boyfriend and also reading as many books as possible, nerdy I know. Well I set myself a task on Goodreads to read 50 books this year and I’m already on my 13th, granted on the site it says I’ve only read 8 because I had read a few books before I actually joined the site. But I think for next year I’m going to have to set myself a bigger challenge such as 100 books! Which I think, eventually I will mange unless I loose interest, which hopefully I won’t because I’ve had this small hobby since being about 5 and I don’t want to loose it now.

Also I recently went to see The Hunger Games which at first I was a little bit apprehensive about considering I had read the books last year and enjoyed them so much! They were truly something different and I would definetly re-read and reccomend them. But all in all the film did live up to my expectations and is almost on par with the books save a few things they changed/missed out. I just hope they make the other books into films!

In the past few weeks I’ve been having a good think on what content to put on this blog, such as what films and books do I pick to write about? So far I have The Hunger Games and Pulp Fiction, I’ve also decided on a special long entry on Stephen King because he deserves so much credit for his amazing books. But also I need a good think on what book I can write about that other people may not have heard about.

Anyway goodbye for now, expect a new post tomorrow! :vhappy:

Books! Books! Books!

So recently I’ve read a lot of books including The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit and I can honestly say where have those books been all my life? I honestly wonder why I’ve never read them before because they were absolutely amazing, I always wanted to read them but I either forgot to buy them or they slipped my mind completely. They were one my Christmas presents from my mum last year and I’m so glad I put them on my list I really did enjoy them They are definitely in my top 5 favourite books of all time. Now on to the book I’m currently reading is called Eragon and so far I’m really enjoying it! I’m nearly half way through it and it’s so exciting I can’t really seem to put it down, in all honestly anything to do with dragons, Middle-earth (Lord of the Rings) and anything mythical really pulls me into the book and just interests me in general so I think this book series is perfect for me at the moment. This is currently (I think) the 5th book I’m on to reading this month because as I said I’ve read the LOTR trilogy as well as The Hobbit. Get ready for a detailed opinion!  :vhappy:
